Ahaneku Ekenedirichukwu Blasingame is a Nigerian Doctor in training and the founder/Executive Director of BLAS Initiative for Health Education (BLAS Innovative Minds) a social enterprise Building Leaders and Ambassadors of Standard through Education. This enterprise sees to the good health and wellbeing of teenagers and the provision of healthcare awareness to people in rural communities.
He is an Emergency Health Care and Cancer Advocate, UN MGCY Global Conference on Primary Health Care scholar, UNICEF Primary Health Care Youth Leader and a TEDx Speaker. He served as the Director, Standing Committee Professional Exchange (SCOPE), Nigerian Medical Students Association (NiMSA) 2018-2019. Ekene is the Health Coordinator of the Nigerian Red Cross Society Imo branch. He is an award-winning campus journalist with many years of experience. He graduated with distinction from Citizen Journalism program of Aileen Getty School of Citizen Journalism. Ekenedirichukwu is a member of Pan African Universities Debating Council; he served as its Public Relation Officer in 2016. He is a fellow; WHO Primary Health Care Youth Leaders Network and a scholar of YaLa Young Leader’s Academy. He is a winner of several National and International awards and has represented his country in several international fronts.
He volunteers with many organizations like Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) involved in free medical care to rural communities with a passion for correcting the ills of the African health sector through advocacy and investigative writing.
Mrs. Love Ahaneku-Chimezie (Board Member)
Ahaneku Ihunanya Love is a professional librarian, with many years of experience in the field. She is the Executive Director of Platex Fashion Home, a leading brand in the world textiles and fabric designs. Platex Fashion Home is aimed at training world class fashion designers through her fashion academy and making of novel styles for her customers.
She is a member of the Nigerian Librarian Association; she holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. She is a fashion journalist that holds a post graduate diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja Nigeria. Love was a scholar for the American Librarian Association Conference in 2019. She is an expert in retrospective conversion of library materials and cataloguing using Integrated Technical Services (ITS).
Love has worked with Industrial and General Insurance Company PLC as a life product marketer, who created a good customer relationship network by solving their investment needs. She is a scholar of Bank of Industry Youth Entrepreneurship Support Programme, where she was selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Federal Government of Nigeria YES-P grant.
At the moment, she volunteers for many organizations like BLAS Initiative for Health Education where she one of the founding members of the social enterprise and the current secretary, special duties.She also volunteers for Fashion for Charity Organization.
Emeka, Osinachi G. (Board Member)
Emeka, Osinachi Gospel is a professional IT personnel, with many years of experience in the field. He is the Executive Director of Sinach Technologies a fast growing Indigenous Information Technology Company providing highly scalable designs, web and software solutions, Computer Maintenance, Networking and other services with innovative approaches and advanced methodologies.
He is a member of the Nigerian Computer Society and Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria; he holds a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (in view) and operation from over 8 years of working with and on computers. Developed communication, cooperation, and leadership skills from IT support career. Knowledge of setting up a network or other system, web development and design and experienced in performing maintenance on a regular basis.
At the moment, he works with Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and a volunteer for many organizations like BLAS Initiative for Health Education where he is one of the founding members of the social enterprise.
Macmichael Kelechi Nwaiwu (Board member/ Patron)
Macmichael Kelechi Nwaiwu is a father of two smart, handsome boys and a husband to one wife.
He’s the United States trained Petroleum Engineer and Strategic Business Manager.
He is a board member and patron of Building Leaders and Ambassadors of Standard (BLAS) Initiative for Health Education. BLAS Initiative organizes medical outreach, emergency first aid & disaster management training, and Non-Communicable Diseases Awareness/Campaigns which he has a great passion for rendering such services for the betterment of African communities. He also has a passion for Women/Girl child education and rights.
Engr. MacMichael earned a Second class (upper division) degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri in 2009, and a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston-Main, Houston Texas in 2013.
He also bagged a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from the prestigious Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
Macmichael has held multiple Engineering roles in the Oil, Gas and Energy industry in the US since 2011. He has worked for Halliburton, DTE Energy, and currently an Engineering Manager responsible for the integrity management of Gas well assets for Centerpoint Energy in the United States.
Since his graduation from business school, he has been working on the side as a Management Consultant for Microsoft.
He is also an entrepreneur with interests in real estate, Agriculture, and Business Consulting.
Macmichael volunteers for community-based causes that touch the lives of the least of us. He is currently on the board of Habitat of Humanity, Evansville; a nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across the 50 states in the United States. The social enterprise has the vision of building and improving homes for individuals and families in need of a decent and affordable place of abode.
He is an intending Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) and a board member at Rotary Club of MidHouston, United States.
Engr. Nwaiwu enjoys spending his time with his family, watching soccer games and TV series, engaging in conversations that challenge people to solve societal problems especially in Africa and underdeveloped regions.
He is also a pragmatic voracious reader, with special passion in putting into practice things he reads for the good of the society.
For the past 6 years, BLAS Initiative for Health Education has been educating people in rural communities on noncommunicable diseases like Cancers; emergency health care like first aid, disaster management; and taking Community Medical Outreaches to rural dwellers as her major projects.
